Great product; a little noisy Aug 02, 2010 I purchsed the mattress genie for my dad after he had major surgery. He loves it. It's very easy for him to get in and out of bed without help. It's very sturdy and inflates quickly. Once you inflate it, it stays that way until you deflate it, which is also quick. It doesn't move or slip on the mattress and it's undetectable when it's not inflated. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the noise it makes when inflating; it's very loud.

Might be good if it stayed inflated Jul 24, 2010 I like the concept here a lot. It's just that apparently it is not constructed well enough to maintain the air overnight. Now, I weigh 125 lbs so I'm not a real big person so I can imagine if someone were heavier the unit would function even less reliably. I noticed another responder had the same problem and used super glue to fix theirs. I am not going to risk this temporary fix and lose my money if it deflates again. The cost is too high for something that does not work well.
If you don't mind inflating every morning and don't need the full incline during the night this might be a good idea for you.
Warning for all of you with the inflated air type mattresses(Select Comfort for example) this is not an easy item to work around all the tubes to your mattress but it can be done.
The Genie works Jul 21, 2010 This product works--it is wonderful for anyone who needs to sit-up in bed without the cost of an adjustable bed. It lifts and adjusts easily--to get to 90% one or two pillows get you there. Even my moms PT and OT had never seen it and couldn't believe the results for the price. Buy it---it actually works well!
So, so Jul 08, 2010 The product does what it's supposed to do but, when you are the only person one side of the bed as high the other side is low. At least that's what I have found when you use this system on a queen size bed.
Had to sleep sitting up Jul 07, 2010 Love it, Love it, Love it. Highly recommend.
I had shoulder surgery and had to sleep sitting up for several weeks. I can already see how this will be great if I get congested and sleeping sitting up would be better. Only minor complaint. If you are using this for recovery [like surgery] and are using it more than a normal 8 hours, you have to add air several times a day. Could be annoying for your housemates at 3 am.
